The deep inner workings of a beggar's mind

My Head Got Blown Off…

Well, I just got back from YEX 2007 (that’s Youth Explosion 2007) in Bradenton yesterday. “Impact! Youth! Corner! Stone! Indo! Nesia!” It was an amazing five days. God really showed up and did a massive work in me and everyone there every single day. The Lord freed me up from some stuff I’d been dealing with majorly for a long time and truly revealed Himself to us all. He is SO big and SO mighty and SO merciful and SO AWESOME that it will take all eternity and more to search Him out completely, and I believe that there is no better way to spend our time.

In the book I’m reading, Corey Russell mentions how Ezekiel, after seeing a revelation of God’s glory and power, sat by a river bank stunned for a whole week (that’s seven days of nothing but sitting there with your chin to the ground and staring off into the distance)!! That’s some powerful glory right there!!! He also mentions the Seraphim, creatures who dwell in the throne room of God with eyes all over their bodies whose whole job throughout all eternity is to look at God, and for all their looking, all they can say is “Holy Holy Holy” over and over again. Usually we get bored of a song if we sing it three or four times in a row at church, but these guys have been singing that same word (“Holy”) for millions of years and beyond. God must be pretty impressive if they don’t get tired of that!!! We as humans tend to create this box around God, saying, “You can’t go any further,” or “No, You can’t do this,” but the problem with that is He’ll break out before we know it and then we’ll realize how much of a nearsighted fool we’ve been (speaking from experience).

Also, He gave me an idea of just how much humility He needed to have to come to earth as a baby and die for our sins. Think about it: The ALPHA and OMEGA, the Beginning and End, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lion of Judah, omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (is everywhere at the same time), omniscient (all-knowing), Creator of the universe and Sustainer of life looked down at all of us from His throne high above the heavens and decided that He loved us enough to cast aside all of His glory and be born as one of us and then to die for the lowest of the low among us. Even that doesn’t describe it fully. There are no words adequate enough to accurately describe the love and mercy and humility of my God.

How do you describe the infinite with finite terms?

I’m still amazed at what I witnessed the Lord do there. Many were healed of sicknesses that had plagued them for years. Broken bones were mended. Several were freed from addictions and struggles that had previously owned their lives. Many more were given the gift of new life in the Spirit. Broken relationships and the pain associated with them were healed. Many accepted Christ’s gift of salvation for the first time and 27 were baptized in the river there. All in all, it was a truly miraculous time, and the Spirit really moved in us all and lit a flame that will not soon be quenched. Just read this little blurb I wrote the other day:

=====================================================================

“TO ARMS!!!”
The battle cry of a generation resonates throughout the empty recesses of the earth
The Lion of Judah releases a terrible roar that even the demons fear
Our armor shines in the darkness
Swords flash, walls are torn down, and the enemy trembles like the earth before us

No longer will we stand idly by and let the enemy bombard us
Fearless, we press forward, no matter the cost
The enemy’s chief weapons are rendered useless and turned against him
He trembles at the war cries ringing in his ears

We will no longer tolerate his influence
We will no longer be swayed by his lies
We will stand firm with our Commander
Until the battle is won

Our voices cannot be silenced
The fires burning in our hearts are unquenchable
Though all the powers of hell come against us, we are unstoppable
The enemy’s power is broken as we rise from the dust, and he flees in fear

NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE BACK WHAT IS OURS!!

LIFT UP THE BATTLE CRY!!!
SOUND THE ALARM!!!
FIRE THE ARROWS OF PRAYER!!
THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW!!!

NO MORE FENCE RIDING!!!
NO MORE SUPERFICIAL CHRISTIANITY!!!
NO MORE WALKING AROUND LIKE WE’RE WOUNDED!!
WE ALREADY HAVE THE VICTORY,
LET’S START ACTING LIKE IT!!!

=====================================================================

In closing, I’d just like to say that GOD ROCKS and no one can convince me otherwise. Major props if you actually read the whole thing…I tend to get a little long winded if I get excited (as y’all can probably see from my other blogs). I’ve got more to write, but I’ll save it for another time…this blog’s long enough already…God bless you all!!!!
