The deep inner workings of a beggar's mind

You Made Us Anyway

Well I wrote this a little while ago and posted it on Facebook, but I figured, what the hey. I don’t have too much stuff on here, so why not post it? Isn’t it amazing that God loved us enough to make us even though He knew we’d fall away? That’s basically what this poem of sorts is about. Enjoy and I’ll post some more fresh stuff later. Peace and God bless!!

When You made the earth and sky,
You knew that we would deny
Your kindness and all turn away,
But You made us anyway.

From far beyond the stars in space
You longed for us to all embrace
Your love but we pushed You away.
Still, You made us anyway.

You gave us everything and more
And we all chose to ignore
Your gifts and go off our own way,
But You made us anyway.

What is this great love I see?
What could this forgiveness be?
What ran through Your mind that day
When You made us anyway?

Even though we went astray,
You came and took our sin away.
‘Twas such a heavy price to pay
Because You made us anyway.

I still don’t fully understand
Why You have a love so grand,
But I’m thankful every day
That You made us anyway.

  1. I like it. I don’t know that I’ve ever thought that much about it..He knew all the pain we would cause, but He made us anyway. Thanks for sharing. :)
