The deep inner workings of a beggar's mind

They are some of the most complex things in the universe, yet so simple in appearance.

They can build up or tear down,

They can help or hurt,

They can inspire trust or break it,

They can transmit important messages or mindless jabber,

They can give voice to truth or deception,

They can bring laughter or tears,

They can comfort or cause people discomfort,

They can direct or distract,

They can bring respect or fear,

They can save lives or destroy them,

They can break barriers or build them,

Yet they can’t do any of this unless there’s an ear to listen on the other end.

Who are you listening to today?

this is so true man. Words are awesome, but we can’t learn unless we listen.

  2. It is hard, when the world is screaming it’s values and thoughts at you wherever you turn..
Yet..if we just keep our focus on the Truth…funny how all those voices disappear, ey?

this reminds me of my speech class.. my teacher would speak & say lovely deep things like this. you spoke in a manner as if the reader could walk along the same path as the writer(yourself) & interpret it in their own form.

  4. You speak the truth. When the world’s thunder is being screamed and forced down our throats, the whisper of God is louder than any of the thunder of this world.

Who am I listening to today? That is a good question…something I should ask myself often. Am I listening to the voice of the world, or the voice of the one who made the world?
